We are over the moon to announce that we have a confirmed pregnancy from the mating of our stunning girl Honey and Diesel who is a lovely Dark Fox Red shade of yellow. This particular mating was deliberately chosen to produce puppies with fabulous Health Testing by parentage.

Nook on Lyne Labradors are a Fully Qualified 5 Star Higher Licensed Kennel Club Breeders of Extensively Health Tested Pure Bred Labradors.

We are incredibly proud to be one of a handful of Qualified Breeders in the UK having successfully completed the nationally recognised Ofqual Regulated Level 3 Certificate in Dog Breeding, Litter Socialisation and Welfare. This groundbreaking qualification, the first ever of its kind in the UK, has been welcomed by many professionals in the pet sector as a huge step forward in animal welfare.

We have completed a course in Cytology the study of canine cells including their structure, function and formation.

We have a 3 year First Aid Certificate after successfully completing a pet first aid course delivered by our vet.

We have gained our PeddyMark Certificate of training & competence in microchipping dogs. The Microchipping of Dogs (England) Regulations 2015 required that from 6th April 2016, every dog that is older than 8 weeks must be microchipped. It is a breeder’s responsibility to ensure puppies are microchipped before they leave for their new homes.

We are also currently studying towards an Ofqual Regulated Level 3 Diploma in Canine Care, Behaviour & Welfare.

We also undertake annual Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in order to develop new skills and enhance our current abilities in order to be the very best we can.

Having been awarded a 5 Star Licence means that we meet the higher welfare standards which in turn helps potential puppy buyers know that we are doing more to make sure your puppies and their parents are happy and healthy.

At Nook on Lyne Labradors we are passionate breeders who embrace that we have a moral & ethical responsibility to ensure the welfare of our beloved dogs and their puppies is at the forefront of our breeding programme.

The ethos of any of our breeding involves dedicating an incredible amount of time & expense with the aim of breeding ethically & responsibly to pass on most importantly superb health to all of our puppies together with the desirable qualities & traits of looks, temperament & confirmation.

As a small breeder our passion is the Labrador Retriever, our dogs are very much part of the family and spend many hours curled up in front of the Aga. By only having a maximum of 2 litters a year this allows us to dedicate all our our time and resources into raising our litters to the best of our ability and the fabulous reviews we have received on our Nook on Lyne Website shows our level of commitment. Our girls are NOT mated until they are 2 years old and mature enough to be a Mum. They have 18 months break between litters and when they are retired they are NOT re-homed but they enjoy their retirement here with us, they are our family.

At Nook on Lyne Labradors we work very closely with our local independent vet Liz in respect of our dogs health and our breeding programme.

Liz who specialises in house calls carries out a Comprehensive Health Assessment and Gait Evaluation of all of our dogs twice per year in order to establish that they are in perfect health. She also vet checks the puppies at home in their own familiar environment which in turn avoids unnecessary stress and reduces the potential for cross infection.

The Labrador with its fabulous temperament is known for its versatility, as such our puppies are suitable for a variety of environments/jobs including pet homes whether experienced or first time dog owners, working dogs and therapy dogs

The unprecedented demand for puppies over the last couple of years has had serious implications on the health and welfare of many puppies with a sharp rise in avoidable Health Conditions due to unethical and unregulated breeding with little or no Health Testing.

We are therefore very proud that due to this incredibly hard to find impeccable equally matched CLEAR Health Testing of BOTH Diesel and Honey ALL puppies in this litter are Guaranteed to be 100% Hereditary Clear of the tested Genetic Conditions as opposed to Hereditary Unaffected which is an unknown quantity until a puppy is DNA tested. Currently this makes this litter one of the best tested litters by parentage in the UK.

All puppies will be Hereditary CLEAR of the 22 Breed Specific Genetic Health Conditions commonly found in the Labrador Retriever. Furthermore the puppies will be Hereditary CLEAR of a further 203 Genetic Health Conditions.

Subject to availability we use Highly Respected Orthopaedic Specialists at PupScan who provide a Ultrasound Service. By using this Diagnostic Technique Specialists are able to confirm normal hip development of puppies at approximately 6 weeks of age before they leave for their new homes.

The first 16 weeks of a puppies life are crucial for learning & development. With this in mind we have designed a puppy development room that allows for this window of opportunity for puppies to learn both human and canine socialisation and stimulation skills, play and learning about boundaries of behaviour.

We have Litter Socialisation Protocols in place from birth with Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Introduction (ESI) starting at day 3 for 14 days. ENS involves applying gentle stressors to a puppy for very short period of time, this process is thought to improve a puppy/dog's stress responses later in life.
Puppies & Dogs explore the world through their olfactory system. Using ESI in a controlled manner can Improve scenting ability in later life, increase confidence and reduce behavioural issues associated with scent.

Socialisation continues up until the puppies leave us to ensure our puppies are exposed to as many different and relevant physical and audio stimuli as possible. Some of the physical exposure includes different textures, surfaces, levels, recall, crate training, car journeys, other dogs and people together with the audio exposure of fireworks, gunshots, sirens, children playing, dogs barking and loud bangs as well as the usual household noises. We also offer tailored stimuli where this would be beneficial for new owners.

We undertake comprehensive puppy profiling in order to help new owners and ensure puppies are matched to the correct homes/lifestyle.

By observing individual puppies from the day they are born and noting the reactions they show to various stimuli over several weeks allows us to gain a better idea of each individual puppies temperament and traits as they develop.

These careful observations are then used to create a personalised profile for each Puppy and allow us to provide new owners with an individual specific tailored plan for their new puppy to take home. These plans can then be used to continue their training at their new homes and at future Puppy Classes.

We want to ensure our puppies and new owners are fully supported when your puppy is transitioned into their new home.
We do this by providing a complete package of funded professional support.

We provide a remote puppy training course The Puppy Pod together with a funded 12 month subscription to Veterinary Expertise via VidiVet

The online Puppy Pod training course is designed to bridge the gap between your puppy leaving us and starting puppy classes with you. It fully supports you through the preparation, settling in and early training phases of your puppies life including the early days, development & socialisation, fear periods, unwanted behaviours, poisonous food & plants and so much more. You will have lifetime access to the online course together with a Qualified Dog Trainer and Behaviourist once you have left your deposit giving you plenty of time to prepare for your new arrival. This level of lifetime support from professionals is fabulous for all new owners especially first time dog owners.

VidiVet delivers Veterinary Expertise 24/7 365 days a year without having to book a consultation. They are microchipped at 6 weeks and vet checked between 7 and 8 weeks at which time they will be given their first vaccinations of Canine Parvovirus and Leptospirosis 2 or 4 depending on your vet recommendation for your Geographical Area.

Staying close to the ancestral diet by providing the optimal ratio of meat and fish to fruits, vegetables herbs, vitamins minerals, and botanicals thus creating a superior, nutritionally, balanced diet for the best start in life.
